Rosewood veneered Tunbridge Ware hinge lidded trinket box (circa 1860) with chamfered sides, having an inlayed cube design on the lid of various wood species set in a geometric mosaic border edging. The external wood finish has a original patina, and all the corners of the box are "feather" jointed being a sign of quality made. Internally the box has the original paper lining. Knob is probably bovine bone.
