Octagonal Chamberstick with Candle and Match Storage
Middle 18th century. Rosewood. 5-5/16" H overall. Takes 3/8" diameter candle?
Chanbersticks were used to grab the flame from the oil lamp, and then carry the flame to one's bedroom. And light the oil lamp there. Also called Go To Bed. The missing bone holder to hold the spent match has been replaced.
